'Samurai sword' crime leaves three dead at Tokyo hallowed place

Three individuals have been murdered and another harmed at an outstanding Shinto place of worship in Tokyo in what gave off an impression of being a progression quarrel, neighborhood media said.

The suspect is thought to have executed his sister the central priestess, as she was venturing out of her auto, Kyodo news office said referring to police.
He later supposedly executed another lady, who was a piece of the trap, before taking his own life.
A bloodied Samurai sword was supposedly found at the scene.
The priestess' driver was injured in the assault, police said.

A longstanding fight

As indicated by neighborhood media, the killings were started by a longstanding progression quarrel between the priestess and her sibling, named as Shigenaga Tomioka.
Mr. Tomioka had himself been a boss cleric of the hallowed place having assumed control from his dad in the 1990s, Jiji news organization detailed. Nonetheless, he was sacked in 2001 and their dad came back to the position as a primary cleric, introducing his girl Nagako Tomioka as the second-positioned in the hallowed place.
Amid those years, the suspect is said to have sent debilitating letters to his sister and was captured in 2006.
After their dad resigned in 2010, Ms. Tomioka turned into the main priestess, breaking with a Shinto place of worship umbrella association after it neglected to rubberstamp the progression, as indicated by the Asahi Shimbun.
Shintoism is Japan's indigenous religion. The Tomioka Hachimangu holy place goes back to 1627 and is celebrated for the Fukagawa Hachiman summer celebration in August.

As per its site, it was among those to begin the convention in Edo (now Tokyo) of holding Sumo competitions on its grounds to pull in guests and gifts - a custom still regular at numerous Shinto places of worship.
